In the scope of (MID) Council directive 2004/22/EC, OIML R 75 and EN 1434 standards, water meters should operate truly in seven distinct
flow intervals described below within the allowed error margins.
Equipment to make these tests should have k=2 ≤0,2% measurement uncertainty.
Structural index error of the meters should be determined by comparing with the real volume in at least seven flows below and making
examination in each flow for two times:
The verification of the complete meter shall be carried out, at least within each of the following ranges For heating applications:
a) Δ0min ≤ Δ⊖ ≤ 1,2 Δ0min and 0,9 qp ≤ q ≤ qp
b) 10 K ≤ Δ⊖ ≤ 20 K and 0,1 qp ≤ q ≤ 0,11 qp
c) Δ⊖max – 5 K ≤ Δ⊖ ≤ Δ0max and qi ≤ q ≤ 1,1 qi
Rated operating conditions
The values of the rated operating conditions shall be specified by the manufacturer as follows:
1.1. For the temperature of the liquid: max, min,
— for the temperature differences: Δ max, Δ min,
subject to the following restrictions: Δ max/Δ min ≠ 10; Δ min = 3 K or 5 K or 10 K.
1.2. For the pressure of the liquid: The maximum positive internal pressure that the heat meter can withstand
permanently at the upper limit of the temperature.
1.3. For the flow rates of the liquid: qs, qp, qi, where the values of qp and qi are subject to the following restriction: qp/qi ≥ 10.
